What's growing

Something's out
all season

The paddock rolls through the year. Pick what's open, skip the tight buds, they're the next lot coming.

A jar of poppies, salvia and yarrow
Poppies Spring

First up and gone fast. Cut them as cracked buds and watch them open on the bench.

A picked jar of summer flowers held up on the driveway
Zinnias Summer

The workhorse. Wobble the stem, if it's stiff, it's ready.

Dahlias in a vase on a hall table
Dahlias Autumn

They carry April and May right through to the end. Cut low, above a leaf pair, and they'll throw two more.

October is a slow start while everything wakes up. Summer is the full paddock. Dahlias carry April and May, and Mother's Day weekend is the big one, so come early if you can.

How it works

Three things
and you're off

No booking, no ticket, nobody to find. Drive in, park on the grass, and help yourself.

1
Grab scissors and a bucket

Both live at the gate. Take a bucket even if you only want a cup's worth, stems last better wet.

2
Cut low on the stem

Longer than you think you need. Take your time and leave the tight buds to open.

3
Pay at the shed on your way out

Paper and ribbon are on the bench. The pay station is in the shed.

Questions

The usual ones

Can I come on a weekday?

Yes. We're open every day of the season, and weekdays are quiet and lovely.

Do I need to book?

No. The gate's unlocked in daylight hours and it's all self-serve.

What if I don't want to pick?

Six ready bunches sit on the shed shelf every weekend at $25. Come early on Mother's Day weekend.

Is it good for little kids?

Very. Under 5s get a Kids Cup for $5 and do their own, and a $2 feed bag gets you the sheep and ponies.
