Panton Hill Flower Farm
About us

A small farm
on a dirt road

We grow cut flowers on a few acres at Panton Hill. The gate is self-serve and open right through the season — you bring the afternoon, we'll supply the scissors and a bucket.

We grow what we'd want in our own kitchen, and we let you pick it yourself.
How it started

One bed of
dahlias, then
rather more

It began the way these things do — a few tubers in the ground, more flowers than one house could hold, and neighbours who kept asking if they could buy a bunch.

So we put a bench at the shed, filled some jars, and left a box for the money. It worked. Now there are rows of it, and a gate that stays open through the season.

How we do it

Cut the day you get it

Nothing sits in a cool room for a week. Everything here is picked that morning, or you pick it yourself.

Grown on the place

No imports, no dyed stems, no flowers flown in from another hemisphere. Just what this paddock will grow.

Something left for the bees

We never cut a row bare. The perennials stay in the ground and the last of the season goes to seed.

Self-serve, and we mean it

Nobody's
watching you

There's no counter and no queue. You'll probably have the paddock to yourself. Take as long as you like, let the kids pick their own jar, and pay at the shed on the way out.

It runs on trust, which has worked out fine so far. If something's wrong or the water's low, leave us a note on the bench.

Plan your visit

Cut what you love, leave the rest for the bees.
